Long ago, before this was a town with roads and trains and cars,this was a kingdom.
很久以前这里是一个王国
Here? We don’t even have a Tesco.
这里吗?可我们连个乐购都没有
It was a prosperous kingdom with a wise king with peace for his people，
But peace had come at a price. The king had lost all three of his sons in battle to giants .to  dragons,to armies of men led by great wizards.
一位贤明的王国统治者这个繁盛的国家，天下太平，但是和平是有代价的。国王的三个儿子全部战死，一个为巨人所杀，一个与恶龙交手而死，还有一个对抗巫师带领的军队而死。
This is all sounding pretty fairy tale-ish.
听起来就是个童话故事
You would not say that if you heard the screams of a man killed by a spear.
The queen wasn’t able to bear the loss of all their three sons. Leaving the king alone in despair with the company of his only remaining heir.
His orphaned grandson.
如果你听到过人被标枪刺穿时的惨叫，就不会这么说了。
王后无法承受丧子之痛,留国王在绝望中孤家寡人，只有唯一的继承人相伴,他的遗孙。
The child was raised as a prince. Winning the love of the kingdom with his scaventry and good heart. His people loved him.
这个孩子以王子的身份长大,受到整个王国的爱戴，因为他的正直和善良。
He was nearly a man when his grandfather took a new wife. The king fell ill. Rumour began to spread that she was an evil witch that she was bent on taking the throne for herself by poisoning the king.
王子快成年时，国王取了新王妃。国王大病一场，流言也随之四起，人们说新王后是邪恶女巫，一心想篡位，不惜给国王下毒。
A few weeks later the king died.the prince was too young to take the king’s place.so, by law,the queen would rule for for another year.
数周后，国王驾崩了。王子年纪尚小，无法继位。因此，依照法律王后将摄政一年。
The future was uncertain.
前途茫茫。
The prince meanwhile had given away his heart.She was beautiful and smart,as though only a farmer’s daughter, The kingdom smiled on the match.
王子却在此时坠入爱河。她是个聪慧美丽的女子，虽然只是个农夫的女儿。举国上下却都祝福这段姻缘。
The queen, however,She was rather enjoying being queen.what better way to remain so than to marry the prince herself
但王后不愿就此让位，最好的解决办法莫过于和王子结婚
What? That’s disgusting！ She was his grandmother.
这太恶心了，她是他祖母啊
Step-grandmother, and still a young,beautiful woman herself, don’t forget.
but the prince however,didn’t like the idea either.He took the farmer’s daughter,and they rode away into the night.They stopped to rest under the branches of a yew tree.
继祖母，别忘了 她仍然年轻貌美。可是王子并不愿意。他和农夫的女儿连夜骑马私奔。他们停在一颗紫杉树下休息。

The next morning, the prince woke. “Arise, my beloved,” he said.But the farmer’s daughter did not stir.which was when the prince noticed the blood. 
Someone had killed his beloved in night.
次日早上，王子醒来‘起床了，吾爱’他说。但农夫的女儿一动不动。这时，王子看到了血。夜里有人杀害了他的心上人。
“The queen!” cried the prince. “The queen has murdered my bride!”
‘王后干的’他哭喊道,王后杀了我的新娘。
The villagers, full of fury and vengeance,rose up at the crime.It was then I came walking, the queen was never seen again.
这一恶行让充满愤怒与仇恨的村民纷纷起义。就在那时我破土而出,王后从此消匿无踪。
Good, she deserve it. Now I don’t suppose you can help me with my
grandma
很好,她罪有应得。我想你是不会帮我对付我外婆了。
The story is not yet finished.I took the queen and carried her far enough away
 so that the townspeople would never find her,to a village by the sea where she began a new life.
故事还没结束，我带着王后到远方，一个国王子民无法找到的地方，那是一个海滨村庄，她在那里开始了新生活。
But she murdered the farmer’s daughter! How could you save a murderer? You really are a monster.
但她杀了农夫的女儿，你怎么能救杀人犯呢，你真是个怪物。
I never said she murdered the farmer’s daughter, I only said that the prince said so.

The prince never fell asleep that night but waited for the farmer’s daughter to be lost in her dreams，and then begin his real plan.
王子那晚根本没有入睡，等着农夫的女儿熟睡过去，然后开始了他真正的计划。

He knew her death would start a fire that would consume the queen entire.

That’s a terrible story. And a cheat.

It is a true story,  Many things that are true feel like a cheat. 
故事是真的，真亦假时假亦真。
Kingdoms get the princes they deserve, farmers’ daughters die for no reason, and sometimes witches merit saving. Quite often, actually. You’d be surprised.
王国得到了他们的王子，农夫的女儿无辜死去，而有时女巫也值得出手相救。很多时候都是如此，你可能会很吃惊。
So the good prince was a murderer and the evil queen was no witch after all?
所以好王子是杀人凶手，而邪恶的王后也不是女巫？
No, The queen most certainly was a witch and could very well have been on her way to great evil. Who can say?
不，王后是货真价实的女巫，很可能就要犯下滔天大罪，谁知道呢？
Why did you save her then?
那你为什么要救她？
Because what she was not, was a murderer. She hadn’t poisoned the king, he had merely grown old.
因为她不是凶手，她没有毒害国王，国王只是年事已高。
Did the prince ever get caught?
王子的罪行有被发现吗？
No, he became a much beloved king and ruled happily until the end of his long days.Oh ,yes
没有，他成为了一个备受爱戴的国王，快乐长久的统治着他的王国。就是这样
I don’t get it ,who’s the good guy here?
我不明白,故事里谁才是好人
There is not always a good guy, Nor is there always a bad one. Most people are somewhere in between.
好人并非总是善良，坏人也并非总是邪恶，大多数人介于两者之间。
