歌曲故事背景梗概：

Take a chance on me是ABBA组合最成功的排行榜单曲，使得该组合第七次登上英国销量排行榜榜首，这也是他们在之前两大专辑后，连续第三次荣登榜首。一系列的成就让ABBA成为20世纪70年代英国排行榜冠军单曲的常客。

这首歌的最初暂定名称为Billy Boy“比利小子”。1977年，由本尼•安德森和比约恩•乌尔瓦乌斯共同创作并录制。极其平淡的开场，两位主唱随机开唱，另一位演唱solo独唱。整个演唱过程中一直都有持续的快节奏。这首歌也是为数不多的ABBA早期单曲，经纪人没有参与创作的歌曲，这样让Andersson和Ulvaeus作为坚定的创作伙伴。
