歌曲故事背景梗概：

70年代年轻时曾经也是满腔热血，加入了许多乐队成为主唱，逐步推出单曲，但一直不温不火，后来乐队也由于各种原因而解散。

这期间Nik居无定所，颠沛流离，尝尽人生百味。直到1984年初，nik终于在音乐上有所突破出了自己的首张专辑human racing，wouldn’t it be good也成为热门歌曲之一，从这时候起，聂克肖打进一些流行音乐，这样才找到了自己的谋生方式，成为一名有利可图的商业作曲家。所以在歌曲中的种种辛酸都是对他早年经历的如实反映。

❻ on your side 就是站在某人的一边

1）eg：Almost all people see that the grass is greener on the other side. They never feel satisfied with what they’ve already got.
人都是这山望着那山高，对自己的状况没有满意的时候。

2）eg：In the past , people who have been to other countries thought the grass is always greener on the other side.
以前出过国门的人觉得外国的月亮比中国圆。
