Jonas Rönnberg, also known as Varg2™ is a Swedish electronic musician, producer, and artist. He is a frequent collaborator with the music collective Drain Gang. Rönnberg is also the owner/co-owner and operator of two independent record labels based in Stockholm: Northern Electronics, which Rönnberg runs together with fellow Swedish producer Anthony Linell (formerly known as Abdulla Rashim) and focuses on traditional and experimental techno, and Cease 2 Exist (C2E), which is primarily known for its experimental EDM and is often associated with collaborations with members of Drain Gang such as Bladee and Ecco2k. Rönnberg began releasing music in 2013 and was a co-founder of the Stockholm-based record label Northern Electronics. During this phase of his career, Rönnberg was mostly associated with dark techno, drone, and experimental noise music, often collaborating with other producers such as Anthony Linell who have together released music as Ulwhednar. Rönnberg has released music through the Danish, Copenhagen-based label Posh Isolation and also collaborated with other artists on that label, creating a techno group The Empire Line together with Christian Stadsgaard (Vanity Productions) and hardcore vocalist Isak Hansen. In 2019, a cease and desist letter was sent by a German metal band, claiming that they had the rights to the name Varg. As a result, Rönnberg changed his name to Varg2™. EP **** Varg was created as a response to this situation. This was also the most markable aesthetic shift that Rönnberg took, starting to produce experiemental EDM and trance tracks. As part of this stylistic shift Rönnberg also founded the Cease2Exist label, which continued references to the earlier legal battle. The first release under the label was the track "C2E ft. Bladee." After this release, Rönnberg has continued the collaborations with other Drain Gang members, and continues to release music through YEAR0001 (such as the EP Lonestar Pandemonium) and Cease2Exist.
