LA-based pop singer-songwriter, Rosie Darling, is known for her signature flowing melodies and gut-wrenching lyrics. A naturally confessional songwriter who channels her experiences into gorgeously arranged, minimal pop, Rosie grows creatively and personally on her 2025 Roomful of People EP. “I’ve released a lot of music, but these songs are a little bit different from what I’ve done in the past,” she says. “I’m letting go of any mistakes and stepping into a new chapter of my life. I’m taking control and doing what makes me happy. I’m still figuring out who I am—which is part of the process—but I’ll get there.” In order to bring her next chapter to life, she stole away to Dana Point, CA with a group of close friends and collaborators. During this casual writing camp, she crafted the bulk of the EP intoxicated by the serenity of the ocean breeze, steady waves, and familial vibes. The formula was just what she needed, finishing the process with long-time collaborator and producer Justin Gammella (FINNEAS, Ashe). On focus track, "It Is What It Is," Rosie confronts a relationship that wasn't working and comes to terms with the outcome of moving on. The lithely plucked melody sways as she realizes, “I say, ‘It is what it is,’ because I know what it isn’t.” Rosie expands on the meaning saying, “It's about realizing where you stand with someone. If they aren't showing up for you, it's easier to make excuses for them than to just call it what it is, and ‘what it is’ is ‘it's not working!’ Communication in relationships is complex, but it can also be simple. This song points out the idea that some things are clear if you allow yourself to see them for what they are and not what they could be.”
