It’s Read Your Beauty, and I’m Frank Mars. The following story is based on the real experience of Von Alex, a former American airport ticket agent, he retired 10 years ago.
At 8am of September 11, 2001,Alex checked tickets of the last two passengers of the flight at Boston airport after they rushed to him, out of breath. They turned out to be the men who destroyed the World Trade Center on 9/11.Alex was shocked after he heard the attack. He had been checking passengers at the airport for five years, without any mistake, and he didn’t take it as his fault, because the security check before 9/11 was really different from what it is today in America, and Alex did what he should, just as usual. This was exactly what he had thought before he met a woman stranger two months later. She looked in anger, and said to Alex: “You killed my husband!”~music~~~~

From that day on, the guilt and regret grew stronger and stronger in his heart, he couldn’t help blaming himself for “what he did that morning”, and the woman’s angry face was impossible to go away from his mind, it’s only getting deeper. It seemed like he had to live with it for the rest of his life. What if he double checked those last two passengers at the airport? What if he stopped those two men from getting on the plane? Maybe thousands of lives would have been saved, or maybe the woman’s husband would be ok today, and his family would never suffer. So many “if”s , but nothing could be done to relive it, and he saw the woman’s husband in his dream almost every night.
A friend of Alex’s told the local radio station about his experience, and they invited Alex to have an interview about his story. And days later, he received thousands of listeners’ mails, all telling him it’s not his fault and he had to let it go.15 years later today, Alex visits the 9/11 memorial every week. Seeing the names of the people who were killed that day gives him the feeling that they all looked so familiar.
