"Wildfire?" said Annie.
“野火?”安妮说。

"The woods are so dry, everything's starting to burn!" said Jack. "We have to get out of here."
杰克说:“树林太干燥了，所有的东西都着火了。”“我们必须离开这里。”

"We can't leave Joey," said Annie.
“我们不能离开乔伊。”安妮说。

"We'll take him with us!" said Jack.
“我们带他一起走!”杰克说。

"But what if his mom comes back for him and he's not here?" said Annie.
“但是如果他妈妈回来找他，而他不在这儿怎么办?”安妮说。

"We don't have a choice," said Jack.
“我们别无选择。”杰克说。

Just then, the kookaburra flew through the sky,cackling.
就在这时，笑翠鸟嘎嘎叫着飞过天空。

The emus raced by at top speed.

The air was getting smokier and smokier. The fire was spreading quickly!
空气越来越烟雾缭绕。火势蔓延得很快!

"Come on!" said Jack. "We have to get back to the tree house before it burns down!"

"Which way's the tree house?" said Annie.

"I'm not sure," said Jack.

Smoke hid the treetops. Jack's eyes stung.

"Forget it," he said. "Let's just get away from this smoke. Come on!"Jack and Teddy turned to go. The baby kangaroo hid his head inside Jack's pack.
“算了吧，”他说。“让我们离开这烟雾。来吧!杰克和泰迪转身要走。小袋鼠把头藏在杰克的背包里。

"I'll catch up!" said Annie. "I have to get something!"

"What?" cried Jack.

But Annie had dashed off in the other direction.

"Come back!" Jack shouted "Annie!"

Branches cracked and fell from the trees. Smoke billowed every where.
树枝断裂，从树上掉下来。到处都是滚滚浓烟。

Arf! Arf!
汪!汪!

"Annie!" Jack cried.
“安妮!”杰克喊道。

Jack choked on the smoke. He coughed and rubbed his eyes. The air was getting hotter.
杰克被烟呛住了。他咳嗽，揉揉眼睛。空气越来越热。

He had no choice. He had to run.
他别无选择。他必须逃跑。

Arf! Arf! Teddy barked from somewhere ahead.
汪!汪!泰迪从前面什么地方叫了起来。

"Hurry, Annie!" Jack called helplessly. Then he took off after Teddy.
“快点,安妮!”杰克叫无奈。然后他就去追泰迪了。

He stumbled blindly through the brush. All he could do was follow the sound of Teddy's barking.
他在灌木丛中跌跌撞撞地走着。他所能做的就是跟着泰迪的叫声走。

His pack felt heavier and heavier. He held it up with his arms and kept going.
他觉得自己的背包越来越重。他用胳膊把它举着，继续往前走。

Suddenly, Jack heard Annie calling him. Jack stopped.
突然，杰克听到安妮在叫他。杰克停下来。

"Here! Here! Here! We're here!" he shouted. "Come on! Follow us!"Annie appeared through the haze of the hot smoke.

She was coughing. Tears streamed from her eyes.

She was carrying the koala!

"Come on!" Jack cried. "Follow Teddy!"Arf! Arf!

Jack and Annie carried Joey and the koala. They followed Teddy's barking through the smoky, fire-filled forest.
杰克和安妮抱着乔伊和考拉。他们跟着泰迪的叫声穿过烟雾缭绕、充满火焰的森林。

Finally, they came to a giant rock.
最后，他们来到一块巨大的岩石前。

Arf! Arf!
汪!汪!

Teddy was standing on a ledge. Behind him was the mouth of a cave.
泰迪站在窗台上。在他后面是一个洞口。

Through the smoke, Jack could barely see the little dog.
透过烟雾，杰克几乎看不到小狗。

Teddy barked again, then vanished inside the cave.
特迪又叫了一声，然后消失在山洞里。

"Follow him!" said Annie.
