Magic Tree House Dingoes at Dinnertime 20.01 The Last Gift
Annie sat on the porch steps. She stared down the street at the Frog Creek woods.
安妮坐在门廊的台阶上。她盯着弗拉格-克里克森林的街道。
"Hey, Jack," she said. "Do you hear it?"Jack sat next to her. He was reading a book.
“嘿,杰克,”她说。“你听见了吗?”杰克坐在她旁边。他在看书。
"Hear what?" he said.
“听到什么?”他说。
"Teddy's calling us," said Annie.
“泰迪在呼唤我们。”安妮说。
"You're kidding," said Jack. But he looked down the street and listened, too.
“你在开玩笑吧,”杰克说。但他也望着街道的那头,听着。
A faint bark came from the distance.
远处传来微弱的吠声。
Arf! Aff.'
汪!汪!
A big smile crossed Jack's face.
杰克的脸上掠过一个灿烂的微笑。
"You hear it!" Annie said.
“你听!”安妮说。
"Yep," said Jack. "You're right. Time to go."He stood up and grabbed his backpack.

"Be back soon!" Annie shouted through the screen door.

"Don't be late for dinner!" their dad called.

He and Annie ran down the street and into the Frog Creek woods.

Soon they came to the tallest oak.

There was the magic tree house. A little black nose stuck out the window.
有魔法树屋。一个小黑鼻子从窗口伸出来。
"Hi, silly!" Annie called. "We're coming!" Arf! came a happy bark.
“嗨,傻小子!”安妮叫。“我们来了!”汪!传来一声快乐的吠叫。
Annie grabbed the rope ladder and started climbing.
安妮抓住绳梯开始往上爬。
Jack followed her up into the tree house.
杰克跟着她进了树屋。
A small dog sat in a circle of afternoon sunshine.
一只小狗坐在一圈午后的阳光下。
His tail wagged.
他摇着尾巴。
"Hey, Teddy!" said Jack.
“嘿,泰迪!”杰克说。
Jack and Annie hugged Teddy. And the dog licked both of them.
杰克和安妮拥抱了泰迪。狗舔了他们两个。
"Morgan's note is still here," said Annie.
“摩根的便条还在这儿。”安妮说。
"Yep," said Jack. He knew the note by heart now.
“是的,”杰克说。他现在把这张纸条背得滚瓜烂熟。
This little dog is under a spell and needs your help.
这只小狗中了魔咒,需要你的帮助。
To free him, you must be given four special things:
要释放他,你必须得到四件特别的东西:
A gift from a ship lost at sea, A gift from the prairie blue, A gift from a forest far away, A gift from a kangaroo.

Beside the note were the gifts from their first three trips:

1.a pocket watch from the Titanic2. an eagle's feather from the prairie skies3. a lotus flower from a forest in India.

"We just need to get a gift from a kangaroo "'said Annie, "and Teddy will be free from his spell."

"We must be going to Australia," said jack. "That's where kangaroos live."
“我们一定要去澳大利亚,”杰克说。“那是袋鼠生活的地方。”
"Cool," said Annie.
“酷,”安妮说。
Teddy whined and scratched at a book lying in the corner.
特迪呜咽着,在角落里的一本书上乱抓。
Jack picked it up.
杰克把它捡了起来。
"What'd I tell you?" he said.
“我该怎么跟你说的?”他说。
He showed the cover to Annie. The title was Adventure in Australia.
他把封面拿给安妮看。书名是《澳大利亚历险记》。
"Great," said Annie. She looked at Teddy.
“好,”安妮说。她看着泰迪。
"Ready to meet a kangaroo?" Arf! Arf!
“准备好见袋鼠了吗?”汪!汪!
Jack opened the book. He found a page with small pictures of different animals and a big picture of a forest. Jack pointed at the forest.
杰克打开书。他找到了一页,上面有不同动物的小图片和一幅森林的大图片。杰克指着森林。
"I wish we could go there," he said.
“我希望我们能去那儿,”他说。
The wind started to blow.
开始刮风了。
The tree house started to spin.
树屋开始旋转。
It spun faster and faster.
它转得越来越快。
Then everything was still.
然后一切都静止了。
Absolutely still.
