Magic Tree House Pirates Past Noon 4.8 Dig, Dogs, Dig

Pinky and Stinky tied their rope around the big rock.
Pinky和Stinky把绳子绑在大石头上。

The wind howled.The two pirates pulled. And pulled.And pulled.
风呼啸着。这两个海盗拼命地拉呀，拉。

“They need help!” said Jack.
“他们需要帮助!”杰克说。

“Aghh, let the dogs do the work!” growled Cap’n Bones.
“啊，让这些蠢猪干这个活儿吧!”骷髅船长大声说。

“You’re not very nice to them,” said Annie.
“你对他们可不怎么样啊!”安妮说。

“Who cares?” roared Cap’n Bones.
“我才不在乎呢!”骷髅船长吼道。

“Cap’n! We got it!” shouted Pinky.
“船长，行了!”Pinky喊道。

They started pulling the rock across the sand.
他们正将岩石拉过沙地。

“Now let’s dig where the rock was,” said Jack. “All of us!”
“现在咱们从刚才岩石所在的地方往下挖。”杰克说，“所有的人一起动手!”

But Cap’n Bones ignored his suggestion.
但骷髅船长对他的提议充耳不闻。

“Dig, you dogs!” he shouted.
“挖呀，你们这些蠢猪!”他大声叫嚷着。

Pinky and Stinky started to dig. The wind blew even harder. There was going to be a thunderstorm.
Pinky和Stinky开始挖。风越刮越大。暴风雨就要来临。

“Oww! I got sand in me eyes!” Pinky whined.
“噢!我把沙子弄到眼睛里了!”Pinky哭哭啼啼地说。

“Oww! Me back hurts!” Stinky cried.
“哎哟!我的背好痛啊!”Stinky也在哭喊。

“Dig!” shouted Cap’n Bones. He held Jack and Annie with one hand. With the other he pulled out the gold medallion.
“快挖!”骷髅船长大声命令道。他一只手抓着杰克和安妮，另一只手从口袋里拿出金牌。

He tossed it at the two pirates. It fell into the hole. “Dig for more of these, you swine!” he said.
他将金牌扔向那两个海盗，说：“多挖些这样的东西，你们这些蠢货!”金牌应声落入挖开的洞里。

Squawk!
嘎嘎!

“Look!” Annie said.
“看!”安妮说。

Polly was back! She was circling above them!
波利又回来了!她在他们头上盘旋!

“Go back!” she squawked.
“快回去!”她尖叫着。

Stinky and Pinky looked up at the parrot. They scowled.
Stinky和 Pinky抬头看看鹦鹉，一脸的不悦。

“Dig!” shouted Cap’n Bones.
“快挖!”骷髅船长喊道。

“A big storm is comin’, Cap’n!” said Pinky.
“暴风雨要来了，船长!”Pinky说。

“Go back!” said Polly.
“快回去吧!”波利说。

“The bird’s an omen, Cap’n!” shouted Stinky.
“这只鸟就是预兆，船长!”Stinky大声说。

“Dig, you dogs!” cried Cap’n Bones.
“蠢猪!你们只管挖吧!”骷髅船长吼道。

“Go back!” squawked Polly.
“快往回走!”波利又尖叫着。

“The bird’s warning us!” shouted Pinky. “We’ve got to get to the ship before it’s too late!”
“这只鸟在警告我们呢!”平基大声说。“我们要趁现在还来得及赶快回到船上!”

The two pirates threw down their shovels.They started running toward the rowboat.
两个海盗，扔下手中的铁锹，朝划艇那儿跑去。

“Mutineers! Come back!” shouted Cap’n Bones. He dragged Jack and Annie down the beach as he ran after his men. “Stop!”
“反了你们!回来!”骷髅船长大叫。他一边把杰克和安妮拽下海滩，一边追赶他的手下。“站住!”

But the pirates kept running. They got to the rowboat and pushed it into the sea.
但那两个海盗并没停下来。他们跑到划艇那儿，把它推入大海。

“Wait!” cried Cap’n Bones.
“等一下!”骷髅船长大叫。

Pinky and Stinky jumped into the boat. They started rowing.
Pinky和Stinky跳进划艇，开始划起来。

“Wait!” Cap’n Bones let go of Jack and Annie. He ran into the water. “Wait, you dogs!”
“等等!”骷髅船长放开杰克和安妮，冲进水里。“等等，你们这两个蠢猪!”

He hauled himself into the rowboat. Then the three pirates disappeared into the spray of the waves.
他用力爬进划艇，然后与那两个海盗一起消失在波涛里。

“Go back!” squawked Polly.
“快往回走!”波利尖叫道。

“She means us!” said Annie.
“她在对我们说!”安妮说。

Just then the storm broke over the island. The wind howled. Rain fell in buckets.
这时岛上雷声大作，狂风骤起，雨倾盆而下。

“Let’s go!” cried Annie.
“我们走吧!”安妮大声说。

“Wait! I have to get the medallion!” shouted Jack. He ran to the hole dug by the pirates. He looked down in it. Even in the dreary light, the medallion was shining.
“等一下!我要去拿金牌!”杰克喊道。他跑到海盗们挖的洞那儿往下看——即使光线昏暗，但金牌仍在那儿闪闪发光。

Big, fat raindrops were falling into the hole, washing away the sand.
大滴的雨水落入洞中，冲走了泥沙。

Jack saw a patch of wood.
杰克看见一块木头。

Then the rain cleared away more sand. And Jack saw the top of an old trunk.
随着雨水的进一步冲洗，杰克发现那是一只大箱子的顶部。

He stared. Was it Captain Kidd’s treasure chest?
他盯着那只箱子，它是基德船长的藏宝箱吗?

“Hurry, Jack!” cried Annie. She was halfway up the tree house ladder.
“快呀，杰克!”安妮喊着。她已经上到绳梯的一半了。

“I found it! I found it!” cried Jack. “I found the treasure chest!”
“我找到了!我找到了!”杰克喊道，“我找到藏宝箱了!”

“Forget the treasure chest!” said Annie. “We have to go now! The storm’s getting worse!”
“别管什么藏宝箱了!”安妮说，“我们必须要走了!风暴越来越大!”

Jack kept staring at the chest. Was there gold inside?Silver? Precious gems?
杰克还在那儿死盯着箱子。这里面有什么呢?金子?银子?还是珍稀宝石?

“Come on!” Now Annie was shouting from the tree house window.
“快来呀!”这时安妮在树屋的窗户那儿喊。

But Jack couldn’t tear himself away. He brushed the rest of the muddy sand off the chest.
但杰克挪不开步子。他将剩余的泥沙从箱子上抹去。

“Jack, forget the treasure chest!” cried Annie.“Let’s go!”
“杰克，别管什么藏宝箱了!”安妮叫道，“我们走吧!”

“Go back!” squawked Polly.
“该回去啦!”波利尖声叫道。

Jack looked at the parrot. She was perched on the black rock.
杰克看了眼鹦鹉，只见她停在那块黑岩石上。

He stared into her wise eyes. He thought he knew her—knew her from somewhere else.
杰克凝视着她那双智慧的眼睛，他觉得自己认识她，在哪儿见过她。

“Go back, Jack, ” she said. She sounded like a person.
“回去吧，杰克。”她说，听起来就像一个人在说话。

Okay. It was definitely time to go.
好吧，的确该走了。

Jack took one last look at the treasure chest. He clutched the gold medallion.Then he took off, running toward the tree house.
杰克最后看了藏宝箱一眼，然后抓起金牌，起身朝树屋跑去。

His socks and rain boots were still there. He quickly pulled the boots on. He shoved the socks into his backpack.
他的靴子和袜子还在那儿。他快速把靴子套上，袜子就一把塞进了背包里。

The rope ladder was dancing wildly in the wind. Jack grabbed it.
绳梯在狂风中飘来荡去，杰克紧紧地抓住它。

The ladder swayed as Jack climbed. He was tossed this way and that. But he held on tight. At last he pulled himself into the tree house.
杰克往上爬的时候绳梯不停地摆动着，把杰克抛来甩去的，但他死死抓住，并终于爬进了树屋。

“Let’s go!” he cried.
“咱们走吧!”他喊道。

Annie was already holding the Pennsylvania book. She pointed to the picture of Frog Creek. “I wish we could go there!” she shouted.
安妮已经把那本宾夕法尼亚的书握在手里了，她指着蛙溪镇的图片，大声说：“我希望能去那里!”

The wind was already blowing hard. But now it blew even harder.
风已经够大的了，但这时刮得越发猛烈。

The tree house started to spin. It spun faster and faster.
树屋开始打转，转得越来越快。

Then everything was still.
然后一切都平静了。

Absolutely still.
绝对的平静。
