Jack looked out the window.

He looked down at the picture in the book. He looked back out the window.
他低头看了看书中的画，又望了一眼窗户...

神奇树屋-1.3这儿是哪儿

Jack looked out the window.
杰克望着窗户外面。

He looked down at the picture in the book. He looked back out the window.
他低头看了看书中的画，又望了一眼窗户外面。

The world outside and the world in the picture—they were exactly the same.
外面的世界与画中的世界——它们一模一样，完全相同。

The Pteranodon was soaring through the sky. The ground was covered with ferns and tall grass. There was a winding stream. A sloping hill. And volcanoes in the distance.
无齿翼龙翱翔在天空。地面上覆盖着羊齿植物和深深的草丛。有一条小溪，流水潺潺，蜿蜒曲折。有一座陡陡的山坡，还有远处的火山。

“Wh—where are we?” stammered Jack.
“哪儿——我们在哪儿?”杰克结结巴巴地说。

The Pteranodon glided down to the base of their tree. The creature coasted to a stop. And stood very still.
无齿翼龙滑落到他们那棵树底下。它飘然地停在了地上，然后一动也不动地站在那儿。

“What happened to us?” said Annie. She looked at Jack. He looked at her.
“到底发生了什么事?”安妮说。她看着杰克，杰克看着她。

“I don’t know, ”said Jack. “I was looking at the picture in the book—”
“我不知道。”杰克说，“我正在看书中的画——”

“And you said, ‘Wow， I wish I could see a Pteranodon for real, ’ ” said Annie.
“然后你说，‘哇噻，我多么希望能看看真的无齿翼龙啊!’ ” 安妮说。

“Yeah. And then we saw one. In the Frog Creek woods”, said Jack.
“是啊!然后我们真的就看到一只无齿翼龙，在蛙溪树林里。”杰克说。

“Yeah. And then the wind got loud. And the tree house started spinning, ” said Annie.
“是啊!接着风大了起来。树屋开始打转。”安妮说。

“And we landed here,” said Jack.
“然后我们到了这儿。”杰克说。

“And we landed here,” said Annie.
“然后我们到了这儿。”安妮说。

“So that means...” said Jack.
“所以这意味着……”杰克说。

“So that means... what?” said Annie.
“所以这意味着……什么?”安妮说。

“Nothing，”said Jack. He shook his head. “None of this can be real.”
“没什么。”杰克说，他摇了摇头。“这一切不可能是真的。”

Annie looked out the window again. “But he’s real, ” she said. “He’s very real.”
安妮又望向窗户外面。“但是它是真的。”她说，“它绝对是真的。”

Jack looked out the window with her. The Pteranodon was standing at the base of the oaktree. Like a guard. His giant wings were spread out on either side of him.
杰克同她一起望着窗户外面。无齿翼龙仍站在橡树底下，像个哨兵。它巨大的双翼在它身体两边伸开。

“Hi!” Annie shouted.
“嗨!”安妮大喊。

“Shush!” said Jack. “we’re not supposed to be here.”
“嘘!”杰克说，“我们是这儿的不速之客。”

“But where is here?” said Annie.
“但是这儿是哪儿?”安妮问。

“I don’t know,” said Jack.
“我不知道。”杰克说。

“Hi!” Annie called again to the creature.
“嗨!”安妮又对着那动物大叫起来。

The Pteranodon looked up at them.
无齿翼龙抬头看着他们。

“Where is here?” Annie called down.
“这儿是哪儿?”安妮朝下面发问。

“You’re nuts. He can’t talk,”said Jack. “But maybe the book can tell us.”
“你这个傻帽!它不会说话。”杰克说，“不过那本书可能会告诉我们什么。”

Jack looked down at the book. He read the words under the picture：
This flying reptile lived in the Cretaceous period. It vanished 65 million years ago.
No. Impossible. They couldn’t have landed in a time 65 million years ago.
杰克低下头看那本书。他看到那幅画下面的文字：
这种会飞的爬行动物生活在白垩纪。它消失于6500万年前。
不!不可能!他们不可能来到6500万年前。

“Jack,” said Annie. “He’s nice.”
“杰克。”安妮说，“它多可爱啊!”

“Nice?”
“可爱?”

“Yeah, I can tell. Let’s go down and talk to him.”
“是的，我觉得是这样。我们下去跟它说说话吧!”

“Talk to him?”
“跟它说说话?”

Annie started down the rope ladder.
安妮开始爬下绳梯。

“Hey!” shouted Jack.
“嘿!”杰克叫道。

But Annie kept going.
但是安妮继续往下爬。

“Are you crazy?” Jack called.
“你疯了吗?”杰克喊。

Annie dropped to the ground. She stepped boldly up to the ancient creature.
安妮下到地面上，大胆地走向这个远古的动物。
