This is Frank X with American horror story. The following story is based on Tommy Hicks of New Jersey. His story shows how pranks can be scary.

When I was a young child, about 8 or 9, my elder brother played a small, harmless prank on me. He killed my mother not literally, of course, he isn’t a murderer and never will be for sure, but he made me think he was, for a whole day. During this time, my father was working away from home in the U.S. and our mother was taking care of us alone.

My mother had an appointment early on the morning of a Saturday, and had to leave the house before I woke up. For that I didn’t know at all. My brother noticed this. After I woke up and asked him where she was, he told me that she was still asleep and not to wake her up. So I went and did my Saturday routine, eating cereal, watching cartoons, etc… After a while, I was starting to wonder how my mum wasn’t up yet, and I walked to her room to wake her up, and to my surprise, I found her... bed sheets, stained with what I thought was blood, and a lump一团 under them.

I ran crying to my brother, telling him that our mum had been murdered, he answered in a deep voice: “you weren’t supposed to see that, now help me hide the body.”He forced me to go up into her room with him and “hide the body” with him.He faced resistance抵抗from me, but a nine-year old is no match for a teenager. He told me to move the sheet so we can carry her into a closet. I didn’t do it, and he burst out laughing. At this point, I am ashamed惭愧的 to say, I felt intense hatred憎恶 for someone I loved nearly as much as my parents. He then removed the bed sheets and showed me my mother’s dead body…which was a body pillow. I didn’t get over the harmless little prank for several years.

I know my brother was just playing at that time. But each time when I think of the moment I felt, for that specific moment, I hated my brother so much. In life my brother is such a funny and kind man that I can find no reasons to actually hate him. Some pranks can hurt a child….You are listening to American horror story.
