Welcome to MT English. This is Karina. Today we’re going to read a story that was written by Hans Andersen. Hans Andersen was a famous Danish writer. He went from 1805 to 1875. He wrote a lot of fairy tales. These stories often have animals or magic in them.
欢迎来到MT英语。我是Karina。今天我会讲一个安徒生童话。安徒生（1805-1875）是丹麦的著名作家。他一生写了很多童话故事而且这些故事通常都会囊括动物或魔法。

One of Andersen famous stories is the little Mermaid. A mermaid is half woman and half fish and lives under the sea. The Ugly Duckling is the story of a little duck. He doesn’t look like the other ducks. They say he is ugly but he grows into beautiful swan. Thumbelina is the story of a tiny girl. She is the same size as a thumb. She talks with a fish, a butterfly, a mouse and other small animals. Children and adults all over the world enjoy Hans Andersen’s stories. Here is the story of Princess and the Pea.
安徒生的著名童话之一是美人鱼。美人鱼是生活在海底世界的半人半鱼的人物。丑小鸭是关于一只外表和其它鸭子不同的小鸭子从人们口中的“丑小鸭”蜕变为天鹅的小鸭子的故事。拇指姑娘是说和拇指一样大小的小女孩的故事。她会和鱼类、蝴蝶、老鼠和其他的小动物交谈。全世界的人都很喜欢安徒生童话。这里将要讲的童话是豌豆公主。

The Princess and the Pea, a fairy tales by Hans Andersen.

Once there was a prince. He wanted to get married. He wanted to marry princess. He met many princesses, but he could not find the perfect girl for him.
从前有一个王子，他想跟一位公主结婚。这个王子在世界各地寻找，但是尽管他遇到了几个美丽的公主，他总是觉得她们还有些不如意。

One rainy night, a young woman came to the door of the prince’s castle. She was wet and she looked terrible but she said “I’m a princess.” The Queen, the princess’s mother, thought a princess, she is not a princess, I will find out.
在一个骤雨的夜晚，一个年轻女子来到了王子的城堡门口。她被雨淋湿了，看上去很狼狈。但是她却说：“我是一位公主。”王后有些疑虑。“我们很快会弄清楚的”，她自言细语道。

The Queen went into bedroom and put a pea on the bed. Then she put twenty mattresses on top of it. The bed was very high. The queen said to the young woman “Stay a night here, sleep in this bed. Look it’s very comfortable.”
王后走进卧室后，把一颗豌豆放在床上，然后在豌豆上铺了二十层床垫，以致于这个床堆得很高。这时王后对年轻女子说：“你今天先在这张看起来很舒服的床上睡一晚。”

In the morning, the Queen asked the young woman “how did you sleep?” the young woman said “Badly, there was something in my bed. It was very uncomfortable.” The queen said “You felt the pea under all those mattresses. That is true. You really are a princess.”
第二天早上，王后问那个女子：“昨晚睡得怎么样？”年轻女子说：“非常糟糕，因为有什么东西在床上，导致睡的非常不舒服。”王后说：“你感觉到那些床垫下有豌豆。是的，你是一位真公主。”

So the prince married princess and they put the pen in the museum..
最后，王子和公主结婚了并把这颗豌豆放进了博物馆。
