Welcome to American horror story. I’m Frank X. The following story happened to Joe Kriger of Florida in 2006.When telling his story, Joe is still in deep horror.

When I was about 17 years old, my friend and I left his house to drive somewhere in his car. At the time, there was construction on the roads near his home. A bridge, and a section of a new road were being built to connect to the road that ran behind my friend’s house. Something strange happened right there near my friend's house.

We got in my friend's old car, drove down to the end of his street, turned right and stopped at the stop sign there. Looking right, we could see the road that had always been there behind his house. Looking left, we could see the new construction zone. It was impossible to turn left, because there were large orange barriers blocking travel to and from that direction. The construction zone had been cleared of trees, but there was no bridge, and there was no road. It was just a stretch of land, cleared of vegetation草木, and blocked off with those large orange barricades路障 and yellow flashing lights. We turned right, drove for maybe 8 or 9 seconds, and then, we heard a sound that scared the living hell out of us.

The sound was coming from behind us, and when we turned our heads to look at what was there, we saw a massive 18-wheeler truck was running down on us at high speed and honking its horn. The driver seemed very angry, as if we had just pulled out right in front of him although neither one of us saw a driver. This, of course, was impossible since there was no road, and no bridge, behind us. This truck, quite literally差不多, came out of nowhere. My friend and I both screamed something similar to "Holy F..!!!" and he turned the wheel to the right, and drove the car off the road and into the grass. As we started our bumpy slide(颠簸的打滑) through the dry grass, I clearly remember the truck flying past us at high speed, still honking and accelerating. The truck was pulling a large trailer拖车, around 50 feet long. It had dirty, gray sides, and there were dark straps(带子）blowing in the wind along the side.

The truck itself was also old and dirty looking. We slid through the grass, and the car went slightly sideways before it finally came to a stop, and suddenly... it was completely quiet. The car’s engine was no longer running. We sat there for a few moments, without speaking, in a shock. I remember how quiet it was, as bits of dust and grass, under the late afternoon sun, floated down through the open car roof. When we came to our senses, he drove the car back onto the road, and we turned around to go back to his house. We fully expected to see that the barricades had been crashed through by the truck, but there they were... big, orange barricades with flashing yellow lights, just as they had been a minute earlier when we saw them. When we got back to his house, we asked his Mom if she had heard any of the noises that had just happened. The loud truck horns, the truck’s screaming engine, tires etc...
