Once upon a time there lived a little country girl, the prettiest creature who was ever seen. Her mother had a little red riding hood made for her. Everybody called her Little Red Riding Hood.
从前乡下有个人见人爱的最美小姑娘，她的母亲为她制作了一顶小红帽。大家都称她为小红帽。

One day her mother said to her: “Go my dear, and see how your grandmother is doing, for I hear she has been very ill.”
Little Red Riding Hood set out immediately.
一天，妈妈对小红帽说：“来，小红帽，，我听说你外婆她生病了，你去看看她现在怎样了。”

As she was going through the wood, she met with a wolf. He asked her where she was going.
“I am going to see my grandmother.”
“Does she live far off?” said the wolf.
“It is beyond that mill you see there”.
小红帽走进森林就碰到了一条狼。狼问小红帽说：“你要去哪儿呀？”
“我要到奶奶家去。”
“你奶奶住在哪里呀，小红帽？”狼说。
“就在你能看到的那一英里之外。”

It was not long before the wolf arrived at the old woman’s house. He knocked at the door.
Tap, tap, tap.
“Who’s there?”
“Your grandchild, Little Red Riding Hood,” replied the wolf, faking her voice.
The good grandmother called out, “Pull the string, and the latch will go up.”
不就，狼来到了老妇人的家，他敲了敲门。“是谁呀？”
“奶奶是我，我是小红帽。”狼学着小红帽的语气回答说。
奶奶大声地说“你拉一下门栓就行了。”

The wolf pulled the string and the door opened, and then he immediately fell upon the good woman and ate her up in a moment.
狼刚拉起门栓，那门就开了。狼二话没说就冲到奶奶的床前，把奶奶吞进了肚子。

He then shut the door and got into the grandmother’s bed, expecting Little Red Riding Hood, who came some time afterwards and knocked at the door. Tap, tap, tap.
然后，他关上门并躺在床上，期待着小红帽的到来。过了一段时间，小红帽来敲门了。

“Who’s there?”said the wolf.
“It is your grandchild, Little Red Riding Hood.”
“谁在那呀？”狼说。
“是你的外孙女，小红帽。”

The wolf cried out to her, “Pull the string, and the latch will go up.”
Little Red Riding Hood pulled the string, and the door opened.
“Grandmother, what big arms you have!”
“All the better to hug you with, my dear.”
“Grandmother, what big ears you have!”
“All the better to hear you with, my child.”
“Grandmother, what big eyes you got!”
“All the better to see you with, my child.”
“Grandmother, what big teeth you have got!”
“All the better to eat you up with.”
狼大声说“你拉一下门栓就行了。”
小红帽推了门栓，然后门开了。
“奶奶，你的手怎么这么大呀？”
“为了更好的抱你呀，我的乖乖。”
“奶奶，你的耳朵怎么这么大呀？”
“为了更好地听你说话呀，乖乖。”
“可是奶奶，你的眼睛怎么这样大呀？”
“为了更清楚地看你呀，乖乖。”
“奶奶，你的嘴巴怎么也这么大啊？
“因为这样就可以一口把你吃掉呀！”

Fortunately, a hunter was passing near by the hut. He heard the wolf, and recognised him right away. He ran over to the window. He took a good aim, and that was the end of the wolf.
幸运的是，一位猎人碰巧经过木屋

幸运的是，一名猎人正在小屋附近经过。他听到了狼的声音并立刻认出了他。他跑到窗前。他瞄准了目标，然后终结了狼的生命。
