2.“I’m afraid，honestly，no offense but”这些softeners 让坏消息听上去不那么糟糕。

I’m afraid that I might be late.
I’ll ask around but honestly, I doubt anyone will be interested.
No offense, but sometimes it's hard to understand you, with the accent.

3.不要简单的回答No。

-Would you care for more ice？
-I'm good. Thank you.（I don't need more ice.）

-Please do join in our party tonight!
-That is a good idea! I would like to join in but I have another appointment today.

4.擅用各种委婉语。
