One summer day in Frog Creek， Pennsylvania, a mysterious tree house appeared in the woods.
夏季的某一天，在宾夕法尼亚州一个叫蛙溪镇的地方，一个神秘的树屋出现在了树林中。

Eight-year-old Jack and his seven-year-old sister, Annie, climbed into the tree house. They found it was filled with books.
八岁的杰克和他七岁的妹妹安妮爬进了那个树屋，发现屋子里面堆满了书。

Jack and Annie soon discovered that the tree house was magic. It could take them to the places in the books. All they had to do was to point to a picture and wish to go there.
他们不久就发现那个树屋是有魔法的。只要他们指着书里的某一幅图并许愿，树屋就会带他们去那儿。

Jack and Annie visited the times of dinosaurs, knights, pyramids, pirates, and ninjas. Along the way, they discovered that the tree house belongs to Morgan le Fay.
杰克和安妮已经去过了恐龙的时代，骑士的时代，金字塔的时代，海盗的时代，还有日本忍者的时代。沿途中他们发现，这个树屋属于一个叫摩根·拉菲的人。

Morgan is a magical librarian from the time of King Arthur. She travels through time and space, gathering books.
摩根是亚瑟王时代里的一个会魔法的图书管理员。她在时间与空间中任意地穿梭，收集各种书籍。

In their last adventure, Night of the Ninjas, Jack and Annie learned that Morgan was under a spell. To free her, Jack and Annie have to find four special things.
在他们上一次的历险——《忍者的秘密》中，杰克和安妮得知摩根被施了咒语。为了解救她，他们必须找到四样特别的东西。

In old Japan, they found the first thing：a moonstone.
在古代的日本，他们已经找到了第一样宝贝：月亮石。

Now Jack and Annie are about to set out in search of the second thing...in Afternoon on the Amazon.
现在，杰克和安妮马上要出发去找第二样宝物了……就在《亚马孙大冒险》里。

Where’s Peanut?花生在哪儿?
“Hurry, Jack!” shouted Annie.
“快点儿，杰克!” 安妮喊道。

Annie ran into the Frog Creek woods. Jack followed her.
安妮已经跑进了蛙溪树林中，杰克跟在她后面。

“It’s still here!” Annie called.
“它还在这儿呢!”安妮对杰克说。

Jack caught up with Annie. She stood beside a tall oak tree.
杰克追上了安妮，她站在一棵高大的橡树旁边儿。

Jack looked up. The magic tree house was shining in the afternoon sunlight.
杰克抬头看了看，那个神奇树屋在午后灿烂的阳光下闪闪发光。

“We’re coming, Peanut!” Annie called.
“我们来了，花生!”安妮叫道。

She grabbed the rope ladder and started up. Jack followed.They climbed and climbed. Finally they climbed into the tree house.
她抓住从树屋垂下来的绳梯开始往上爬，杰克跟着也上去了。他们爬呀爬，终于爬进了树屋。

“Peanut?” said Annie.
“花生!”安妮叫道。

Jack took off his backpack. He looked around. Sunlight slanted across a stack of books—books about ninjas, pirates, mummies, knights, and dinosaurs.
杰克把他的背包取了下来，环视四周。阳光斜照在一堆书上——关于日本忍者、海盗、 木乃伊、骑士还有恐龙的。

The letter M shimmered on the wooden floor. M for Morgan le Fay.
木地板上的那个字母M闪着微光，M——代表着摩根·拉菲。

“I don’t think Peanut’s here,” said Jack.
“我觉得花生不在这儿。”杰克说。

“I wonder where she is,” said Annie.
“我在想她在哪儿呢。”安妮说道。

“How do you know Peanut’s a she?” asked Jack.
“你怎么知道花生是个女孩儿?”杰克问道。

“I just know it,” said Annie.
“我就是知道!”安妮说。

“Oh, brother,” said Jack.
“哎，真是的!”杰克说。

Squeak!
吱吱。 吱吱。

Annie laughed. “Look, Jack!”
安妮笑了。“看哪杰克!”

A small pink sock was moving across the floor. Yesterday Annie had turned her sock into a bed for Peanut.
一只粉红色的小袜子正在地板上移动呢!昨天安妮把她的小袜子给花生做了一张床。

Annie picked up the tiny lump.
妮把那个小东西给捡了起来。

Squeak.
吱吱。吱吱。

A brown-and-white mouse peeked out of the sock. She looked from Annie to Jack with her big eyes.
一只灰白色的小老鼠把脑袋从袜子里伸了出来，东张西望。她用她的大眼睛看了看安妮，又看了看杰克。

Jack laughed. “Hi, Peanut,” he said.
杰克笑了起来，说：“你好啊，花生!”

“Will you help us again today?” asked Annie.
“你今天还会帮助我们吗?”安妮问道。

In old Japan, Peanut had helped them when they’d gotten lost.
在古代的日本，花生就曾经在他们迷路的时候帮助过他们。

“We have to find three more things for Morgan,” said Annie.
“我们还得找到三样东西给摩根。”安妮说。

Jack pushed his glasses into place. “First we have to find a clue that tells us where to begin,” he said.
杰克推了推他的眼镜说：“首先我们得找到一个线索，告诉我们这次从哪里开始。”

“Guess what,” said Annie.
“你猜怎么样?”安妮说。

“What?” said Jack.
“什么啊?”杰克说。

“We don’t have to look very far.” She pointed at a corner of the tree house. In the shadows was an open book.
“我们不用到处找啦!”她指着小树屋的一个角落。在角落的阴暗处那儿有一本书已经打开了。
