Mokita (aka John-Luke Carter), the Nashville singer-songwriter-producer known for his introspective and emotionally charged music, returns with “Real To Me.”

“Real To Me” is a dream collaboration come true for Mokita, who grew up listening to Dashboard Confessional, led by Chris Carrabba. The song unites the signature acoustic guitars and passionate vocals from Dashboard Confessional with Mokita’s serene, heartfelt delivery.

John-Luke says, "Chris (Carrabba) brought in this concept for a song and we had the initial vibe for the song pretty quickly. I had borrowed a baritone guitar from a friend and had it in this open tuning and that’s where the opening riff came from. We kept the production super simple and really just made it really organic. I layered several guitars together, a high strung guitar and a few guitars with different tunings to really get this full sounding acoustic track. We went back and forth several times and then did another session to write a bridge and add a few extra elements to the production. Chris was so easy to work with and is an amazing storyteller. I’m so honored to be able to sing with one of my musical heroes."
