1:Break a leg

If you have a friend who will perform somehow, like acting, singing, dancing… then a very common American expression is “Break a leg.” Weird, right? Apparently, saying “goodluck” before some kind of performance is actually bad luck! So now we say “break a leg” instead.
如果你有一个朋友即将上台演出，比如表演、唱歌、跳舞… 等等，那么在美式英语中有一个非常地道的表达方式：“Break a leg （字面意思：摔断腿；祝你好运）。”是不是听起来很奇怪？因为戏剧表演有一个迷信，如果你祝福某人 goodluck （好运）, 这会被认为是 bad luck（倒霉）; 但如果你祝某人 bad luck（倒霉） 这反而会给他们带来好运。所以这时候我们会说“break a leg”来表示祝对方好运。
