Today we're going to talk about homonyms.
Homonyms are 同音词。在英文里有很多字的发音是一摸一样的，但是拼写和意思不同。
So today, let's learn three sets of homonyms.

Homonyms are 同音词。在英文里有很多字的发音是一摸一样的，但是拼写和意思不同。
So today, let's learn three sets of homonyms.

1. Ate = Eight
音标 /eɪt/
I ate eight hamburgers last night.
我昨晚吃了八个汉堡包。
Ate = Eat 的简单过去式
Eight 大家应该都知道啦 ^^
2. Aisle = I'll
音标 /ʌɪl/
Aisle = 走道
I'll ＝ I will 的缩写
I'll take the aisle seat, you can have the window seat. (you can say this on a plane or train)
我坐走廊座位，你可以坐靠窗座位。(在飞机或火车上可以这样说)
3. Allowed / Aloud
音标 /əˈlaʊ/
Allowed = 允许的 (形容词) 或者 允许 (动词) 的简单过去式
Aloud = 高声 (通常用在 read aloud ＝ 朗诵 ／ 念)
You're not allowed to read aloud in the library.
在图书馆里不允许高声朗诵。
