when i think about love and relationships, i think about 4 main phases:

1. 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒚𝒎𝒐𝒐𝒏 𝒑𝒉𝒂𝒔𝒆: this is that puppy love that everyone fantasizes about. it seems like nothing could possibly go wrong and the feelings of serotonin has you feeling on top of the world with your partner.

2. 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝒑𝒉𝒂𝒔𝒆: all good things must come to an end, and that includes the honeymoon phase. in this phase, many aspects of your relationship will be put to the test and you'll be feeling confused and angsty. it's going to be hard, but it's up to the two of you to communicate and to try your best to make the relationship work.

3. 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒛𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒑𝒉𝒂𝒔𝒆: this is the time that makes or breaks many relationships. you realize one of two things, 1. you're better off parting ways, or hopefully 2. your partner is someone that you don't want to lose.

4. 𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 (𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒚): this is the stage in your relationship after (hopefully) breaking through the realization phase. you realize that you would do anything for your partner and that you would love them no matter the circumstances of yourself, them, or the status of your relationship. this is the stage we all hope and strive to reach with our partners during the honeymoon phase, and it's the reason why we try to love.

*disclaimer* i'm sure there's plenty of other phases in relationships, but after reading some articles, these were the ones that stood out the most to me and made the most sense for my mix :) it's also important to understand that relationships are not cookie cutter and are never linear. there will be ups and downs in every phase or stage of a relationship, but what matters the most is the love and effort that is put into them!!
