there was a very special gorilla
who had been taught to use a sign language.
If there was anything he wanted
he could ask his keepers for it by using his hands to sign.

Once upon a time
there was a very special gorilla
who had been taught to use a sign language.
If there was anything he wanted
he could ask his keepers for it by using his hands to sign.
It seemed that he had everything he needed.
从前，
有一只很特殊的大猩猩，
他会用手势和别人交流。
如果他想要什么东西，
他就会用手势向它的管理员表达。
看上去，他什么都不缺的样子。

But he was sad.
但是，他却很难过呢。

One day he signed to his keepers
"I want a friend."
There were no other gorillas at the zoo
and first the keepers did't know what to do.
There one of them had an idea.
有一天，他用手势比划着告诉管理员，
"我想要一个朋友。"
动物园里没有其他大猩猩，
一开始，管理员们都不知道该怎么办。
其中一位管理员想到了一个好主意。

They give him a little friend called Beauty.
"Don't eat her," said one of the keepers.
But the gorilla loved Beauty.
他们给大猩猩送来了一只名叫小美丽的朋友。
"可别吃了她啊!" 一位管理员说。
大猩猩很爱小美丽。

He gave her milk, and honey.
他给她分享牛奶，蜂蜜。

And they were happy.
他们在一起很快乐，很开心。

They did everything together.
他们在一起做每一件事儿。

They were happy for a long time…
他们一直很快乐。

until one night they watched a film together.
The gorilla became more and more upset,
and then very angry.
直到一天晚上，他们一起看电影，
大猩猩突然变的越来越沮丧，
后来还很生气。

The keepers rushed in.
"who broke the television? "said one.
"we'll have to take Beauty away now," said another.
听到声音，管理员冲了进来，
"谁弄坏了电视? "一位管理员说道。
"我们要把小美丽带走!"另一位管理员说道。

The gorilla looked at Beauty.
Beauty looked at the gorilla.
Then she started to sign…
大猩猩看着小美丽，
小美丽看着大猩猩。
然后，她开始用手比划着说~

"It… was… ME! I broke the television! "
"是…我…我弄坏了电视!"

Everyone laughed.
And do you know what happened?
Beauty and the gorilla lived happily ever after.
每个人都笑了，

从那以后，小美丽和大猩猩又快乐地生活在了一起。
