The Story of the Fishing King

It begins with the king as a boy, having to spend the night alone in the forest to prove his courage so he can become king.
故事是这样开始的:一个将要成为国王的年轻人要在森林里独自一人度过一晚，以证明他有勇气，能够成为一个国王。
Now while he is spending the night alone he’s visited by a sacred vision.
当他独自度过那个夜晚时，他眼前出现了神的幻象。
Out of the fire appears the holy grail, symbol of God's divine grace.
圣杯神的仁慈与恩典的象征出现在火中。
And a voice said to the boy,"You shall be the keeper of the grail so that it may heal the hearts of men."
一个声音对他说:“你将成为圣杯的保管人，它能治愈人类心灵的创伤。“
But the boy was blinded by greater visions of a life filled with power and glory and beauty.
但是年轻人被更大的幻象蒙蔽了双眼，那里充满权利、辉煌与美女。
And in this state of radical amazement he felt for a brief moment not like a boy, but invincible, like God.

... so he reached into the fire to take the grail,

... and the grail vanished,

leaving him with his hand in the fire to be terribly wounded.

Now as this boy grew older, his wound grew deeper.

Until one day, life for him lost its reason.

He had no faith in any man, not even himself.

He couldn't love or feel loved.

He was sick with experience.

He began to die.

One day a fool wandered into the castle and found the king alone.

And being a fool, he was simpleminded, he didn't see a king.

He only saw a man alone and in pain.
国王只不过是一个独自承受伤痛的人。
And he asked the king,What ails you friend?"
于是，他问国王:“朋友，是什么让你如此痛苦?
The king replied,"I'm thirsty. I need some water to cool my throat".
国王回答道:“我口渴了，需要一点水润一下喉咙。”
So the fool took a cup from beside his bed, filled it with water and handed it to the king.
于是傻子从他身边的床上拿了一个杯子，装满水递给国王
As the king began to drink, he realized his wound was healed.
当国王开始喝水时，他意识到他的伤口愈合了。
He looked in his hands and there was the holy grail, that which he sought all his life.
他看了一下自己手中的杯子，正是他一生苦苦找寻的那只圣杯。
And he turned to the fool and said with amazement,
他把头转向傻子，吃惊的问道:
"How can you find that which my brightest and bravest could not?"
“你是怎么找到这只连我最聪明和最勇敢的手下都找不到的杯子的?”
And the fool replied,"I don't know.I only knew that you were thirsty."
傻子答道:“我不知道，我就知道你口渴。
