心中的玫瑰
A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully and before it blossomed,he examined it.
有一个人种了一株玫瑰花，他精心地烧水。就在玫瑰花快开时，他仔细地看了看花儿。
He saw the bud that would soon blossom,
花蕾很快就要绽放了，
but noticed thorns upon the stem and he thought,
但是他发现花茎上长了很多刺，心想:
"How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns?
长了这么多尖刺的植物怎么能开出美丽的花
Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose,
想到这儿，他很伤心，从此不再用心浇水，
and just before it was ready to bloom... it died.
于是就在要开花之前，这株玫瑰死了。
So it is with many people.
许多人也是如此。
Within every soul there is a rose.
每个人的心灵深处都有一株玫瑰。
The God-like qualities planted in us at birth, grow amid the thorns of our faults.
那些我们出生的时候就已具备的高贵品质，生长在我们的失败和错误的荆棘中
Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects.
我们许多人在看自己的时候,看到的只有尖刺，只有缺点。
We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us.
我们为此感到失望,认为我们不可以做出什么大事来。
We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies.
我们疏于浇灌我们内心的花朵，最终玫瑰死去了。
We never realize our potential.
我们从来没有意识到我们的潜力。
Some people do not see the rose within themselves;
有些人不能意识到自己内心的玫瑰，
someone else must show it to them.
那么就需要其他人告诉他。
One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reach past the thorns of another,
一个人最大的优点就是能够超越他人
and find the rose within them.
找到他人深藏的玫瑰。
This is the characteristic of love: to look at a person and,
这就是爱的特性:看待一一个人，
knowing his faults,recognize the nobility in his soul,
知道他的缺点，同时也明白他灵魂深处的高尚品质。
and help him realize that he can overcome his faults.
帮助他，让他明白他可以超越自己的缺点
If we show him the "rose" within himself, he will conquer the thorns.
如果让他知道他自身的“玫瑰”，他就会超越“尖刺”。
Only then will he blossom many times over.
那个时候，他的玫瑰就会无数次地绽开。
