thought the Little Princess.
"I wonder how I should do it?
Perhaps I should be different."
“是时候要长大了啊,”小公主想。
“好想知道我应该做些什么呢？
也许我应该与众不同吧。”
"But what sort of different should I be?"
"That's not what I should be.
I'd better ask Mum."
“可是我该成为哪一种不同的人呢？”
“这不是我想要的样子。
我最好还是问问妈妈吧。”
"What is the best way to be?" She asked.
"Be kind ..." said her mother ...
"... like your father."
“做什么样的人最好呢？”她问道。
“做一个温和的人 …”她的妈妈说道…
“…就像你爸爸那样。”

"Be loving ..." said her father ...

“做一个有爱的人 …” 爸爸说 …

"Be clean," said the Cook.
"There is such a lot to remember,"

"I must be kind, loving and clean."

“做一个干净的人，”厨师说。
“有好多事要记啊，”小公主心想。
“我得温和，有爱还要干净。”

the Little Princess asked.
"Be brave," said the General.
"Be brave," thought the Little Princess.
"That's it! Then I could get spiders
out of the bath myself."
“做什么样的人最好呢？”她问道。
“勇敢的人，”将军答道。
“要勇敢啊，”小公主心想。
“好吧！那么我可以自己
把浴缸里的蜘蛛捞出来。”

"Be good at swimming..." said the Admiral,
"...then you will be safe if your boat ever sinks."

“擅长游泳的人… ”海军上将说。
“…这样就算船沉了你也很安全。”

"Be clever," said the Prime Minister.
"And be healthy," said the Doctor.

“聪明的人呀, ”首相说。
“而且要健康, ”医生说。
"Oh dear!" thought the Little Princess.
"I must be kind, loving and clean, brave,
good at swimming, clever and healthy.
I haven't got that many fingers!"
"Growing up is SO difficult."
“我的天！”小公主心想。
“我得做个温和，有爱，干净，勇敢，
擅长游泳，聪明而且健康的人。
我用手都要数不过来了！”
“长大真是太难了! ”
"What is the best way to be?"
asked the Little Princess.
"Oh, I don't konw," said the Maid.
"I suppose the important question is ......

“做什么样的人最好呢？”她问道。
“哦，我不知道，”女仆说。
“我想重要的事是……

"I want to be ..."
"Tall," said the Little Princess.

“个子高的人，”小公主说。
"But you ARE tall,"
said the Little Prince.
“可是你已经很高了啊，”小王子说。
