[11:54.31]Black Friday is the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in America.

[12:11.46]There are two explanations for the day's name.
[12:15.37]Some claim it was coined to illustrate the point
[12:18.10]at which retailers start to make a profit, or go "into the black".
[12:23.12]Others believe it was first coined by the Philadelphia police department
[12:27.33]to describe the crowded pavements and traffic jams on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
[12:33.03]As many employees and schools have both Thanksgiving
[12:37.20]and the day after off, followed by a weekend,
[12:40.61]potential shoppers will largely increase.
[12:43.65]So, Black Friday has been the busiest shopping day of the year.
