Saudi Arabia（沙特阿拉伯） has cut diplomatic（外交的） relations with Iran amid worsening（恶化的） tensions（紧张关系） following the execution（处决） by Riyadh of a prominent（著名的） Shia Muslim cleric（牧师）. The Saudi foreign minister Adel al-Jubeir accused（指控） Iran of supporting terrorism（恐怖主义） in the region（地区）. On Saturday, protestors（抗议者） in Tehran stormed（袭击，猛攻; 暴怒，怒骂; 大力迅速攻占） the Saudi embassy（大使馆） denouncing（公开指责） the execution of Sheikh Nemer al-Nemer and 46 others. Kathryn Naji of the BBC’s Persian Service has this report. “Saudi Arabia announced its decision less than 24 hours after hard-line（主张采取强硬路线的，毫不妥协的，采强硬态度的） demonstrators stormed its embassy in Tehran setting it on fire. There were no diplomats（外交官） or staff at the embassy at the time of the attack. Now Iranian diplomats have been given 48 hours to leave Saudi Arabia, but neither side wants to escalate（使升级） the tensions beyond their control.
