介绍: Hello, this is David Austin with the BBC news. Several thousand people have marched to a police station in Myanma's biggest city, Yangon,
demanding a quick resolution to a child rape case that sparked nationwide anger. Many believe there was a slow official response to the attack on the girl who was nearly three years old at a nursery in the capital Naypyitaw in May. On Wednesday, the police charged a suspect, who had already been arrested and released. Analysts say the case underscores the lack of trust in the authorities in Myanmar.

Representatives from the Afghan Taliban and the United States are resuming peace talks in Qatar after a one-day break on Friday. Our South Asia editor Jill McGivering reports. The bilateral talks are reaching a critical phases as both sides try to flesh out with details a framework they've already drafted. The focus is on plans for the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan and guarantees from the Taliban that the territory won't be used as a base for international terrorism. An agreement might allow the US to extricate itself from the conflict, but the proposals are far from an overall peace deal.
