The beginning of Weightless World dates back to year 2011 in to a small house basement next to lake Päijänne, Jyväskylä Finland. Four teenage lads formed a group around mutual interest of playing heavy metal and to create their own music. Playing original songs was the thing right from the first rehearsals, as there was no sense to play something that somebody else had already written.
Years went by, and the music got shaped and moulded by each band members' different musical inspirations, yet main writing always being done by Valtteri Viinikka. After singer Perttu Korhonen joined the band in fall of 2015, something clicked. Band felt that they had finally found the sound they had been looking for a long time. This led to a release of 'My Devotion' single in 2017. Releasing almost a seven minute song as the first offical track might not be the wisest thing to do commercially, but there was no hesitation among the band to do so, as the music and the feel was there.
Being inspired by the aftermath of single release, Weightless World quickly wrote an entire album of new music and entered the Electric Fox Studios with producer Tuomas Kokko in late summer of 2018. The eight pieces crafted there push the bands musical expression forward and together form a debut album to be proud of. New singles 'Guillotine' and 'Dragon's Fire' were finally released in the spring of 2019 and the dormant beast was awakened!
